The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) Muzaffarabad has established the Department of Electrical Engineering on semester system basis in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

Departmental Vision:

Departmental Mission:

“To provide requisite knowledge and skills that are state of the art and conducive to produce competent electrical engineers who can contribute towards the betterment of society by efficiently fulfilling their professional responsibilities in industrial, academic and research organizations.”

The department of electrical engineering has implemented OBE based engineering education system for providing quality engineering education to the students.

Admission Criteria

Students desirous of seeking admission to Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering at UAJK should have:

  • At least 60% marks in F. Sc. (Pre-Engineering) or equivalent (the candidate applying on the basis of A-Level qualification must submit both O-level and A-level Equivalence Certificates from Inter Board Committee of Chairman, Islamabad) OR
  • Relevant Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) from the Board of Technical Education in Electrical Technology/ Electronics)
  • Admission in reserved seats will be only through nomination from the concerned department.
  • Final Merit is made considering the weightages given in the table below.

  • It is mandatory for the students to appear in the university entry test. There are forty seats in the department and their division is given in Table.

Adoption of OBE –  Teaching Learning System

Aims and Objectives of the proposed workshop

Training workshops and seminars provide a platform to scientific and academic community to share scientific knowledge and research outcomes while promoting research culture within institutes.

Since its inception from September 2013, department of Electrical Engineering has strived to produce an enabling environment for both its faculty and students and is keen on progressively adopting the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) guidelines in this regard. Lately, there has been a paradigm shift at the policy level by the PEC where it is encouraging all the engineering departments nationwide to adopt its new OBE based teaching learning assessment system and issuing advisories urging engineering departments to adopt the new system.

There are 12 PLOs (Program Learning Outcomes) of EE Department.

Hands-on Workshop on IoT

Internet of Things (IoT) is a confluence of big data, machine learning, wireless sensor networks, control systems, and embedded systems with the intention of monitoring and controlling operations, assets, situations, and infrastructures through sensing and actuation. IoT is being marked by the experts as the major upcoming disruptor with the capability to revolutionize all aspects of modern human life.
