The responsibilities of this section include, but are not limited to:

• Providing and maintaining networking and communication infrastructure across all campuses and departments for the implementation of UMIS.
• Management of network servers and network-based applications.
• Designing and deploying new network requirements based on institutional needs.
• Configuration and administration of switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
• Supporting the software development section with networking and communication resources.
• User account management and access provisioning across departments and sections.
• Installation and configuration of network and communication tools as required.
• Establishing and maintaining a computer hardware workshop for system repairs and maintenance.
• Setting up and maintaining computer labs in relevant academic departments where needed.
• Ensuring network security and protecting the integrity of institutional data.
• Carrying out any other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Head of the IT Centre.
