Dr. Zahid Majeed has joined the Department of Biotechnology on March, 2018 as Assistant Professor. He received his PhD in Environmental Biotechnology from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia in May 2016.
Achievements: Cambridge Publisher (UK) holds his name as member for the editorial board on Environmental Biotechnology. He is HEC approved research supervisor for M.Phil./Ph.D programs in Biotechnology. He has published 17 research articles in SCI refereed Journals published by world’s leading publishers i.e., Elsevier (Netherland), John Wiley & Sons (USA), De-Gruyter (Germany). He has also submitted two national patents as inventor. He is also the Principal Investigator of a National Project funded by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He has successfully supervised three M.Phil. (Biotechnology) students. One Ph.D. student is being co-supervised.

His area of research excellence encompasses environmental biotechnology. He has research interests in manipulating genomic information of natural microorganisms using CRISPR/Cas-9, a genome editing technique, for solving region and global challenges in the field of environment biotechnology.
