UAJK Seminar Sparks Renewed Commitment to Kashmir’s Liberation
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, reaffirmed the enduring resilience of the Kashmir liberation movement during a seminar titled “The Establishment of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Its Goals and Objectives.” Jointly organized by the Institute of Kashmir Studies and SunnoFM Kashmir Network, the event brought together students, faculty, and community members.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Abbasi emphasized that despite India’s continued brutal actions and grave human rights violations in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, it has failed to suppress the indigenous movement for liberation. He noted that the issue of Kashmir has been close to his heart since his academic years, and he remains committed to promoting awareness of the cause. He praised Pakistan’s unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political support for Kashmir and urged students and faculty to produce quality research on the Kashmir issue, exposing India’s nefarious designs in international forums.
The seminar also featured thought-provoking speeches from notable figures including Director of the Kashmir Policy Research Institute (KPRI), Dr. Raja Sajjad Latif, Director of the Institute of Kashmir Studies, Dr. Sumaira Shafique, Assistant Prof. Raja Nazakat Hussain, Mr. Amjid Khanzada, and Mr. Saeed ur Rehman Siddiqui, all of whom further enlightened the audience on the ongoing struggle and the importance of academic engagement with the Kashmir cause.
