The Directorate of Student Financial Assistance & University Advancement (SFA & UA) serves as a catalyst to support the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UAJK) in fund raising, establishing public-private linkages, helping students meet financial requirements for their education, providing career services, and developing alumni engagement programs.
No student should discontinue his/ her university education due to financial constraints

Financial assistance is provided to enhance access to higher education, especially for talented but financially constrained students. The Student Financial Assistance section works to:
- Streamline financial aid for meritorious and needy students.
- Promote transparency in financial programs.
- Build partnerships with industry, alumni, donors, and community organizations.
Main scholarship programs include:
- Prime Minister’s Tuition Fee Reimbursement Program
- Pak-USAID Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program
- HEC Need-Based Scholarship Program
- Ihsan Trust Qarz-e-Hasna Scheme
- HEC French Need-Based Scholarship
- HBL Foundation Scholarship
- Punjab Educational Endowment Fund Scholarship
This scheme covers tuition and other mandatory fees for Master’s, M.Phil., and PhD students with valid AJK domicile enrolled at UAJK. Refugees 1989-90 settled in AJK are also included.

Available at undergraduate and graduate levels for Sociology, Economics, Linguistics (English, Urdu, Kashmir Studies), and Psychology.

This interest-free loan scheme supports needy and deserving students. Repayment is based on a student’s financial situation and begins during study with minimal amounts.

Offered by the French Embassy to support deserving UAJK students at undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Career Services section facilitates career planning, internships, and job placement. It organizes annual job fairs and collaborates with industries to create job opportunities for students.
Students enrolled in different programs can apply for merit or need-based scholarships. Departmental scholarships are available for top performers.

Note: A student can only avail one type of scholarship at a time. Applications are invited by the scholarship committee on merit basis.
PEEF launched “Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarships (SSMS)” for Master’s level. In 2016–17, 17 scholarships were allocated for UAJK.
