Social Media can Amplify Kashmir’s Voice, Says Vice Chancellor
The Kashmir Cultural Festival 2025 at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) continues to captivate audiences with its vibrant celebration of Kashmiri heritage. On the second day of the festival, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, addressed a gathering at the Institute of Kashmir Studies (IKS) and urged students and faculty to highlight the Kashmir dispute in its true perspective at international forums. He emphasized the significance of preserving and promoting Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage, stating, “Kashmir is abundantly blessed with a unique and diverse culture, and it is our collective responsibility to protect and showcase it through various means.”
The Vice-Chancellor lauded the efforts of the Director, faculty, and staff of the Institute of Kashmir Studies for organizing this remarkable cultural showcase, which serves as an inspiring platform for students and the community to engage with and celebrate their heritage.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Commander 5-AK Brigade, Brigadier Waqar Najeeb, Dean of Humanities, Meritorious Prof. Dr. Syed Nadeem Haider Bukhari, Dean of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Saadat Hanif Dar, Director IKS, Dr. Summaira Shafique, Director Students Affairs, Dr. Sharjil Saeed, Director Jhelum Valley Campus, Dr. Imtiaz Awan, and other notable guests.
Earlier in the day, the festival showcased an array of cultural activities, including local sports such as Gattka, soulful performances of traditional songs and Sufi Kalam, and other captivating displays that celebrated the essence of Kashmiri culture.
