Seminar at UAJK Condemns Revocation of Jammu & Kashmir’s Special Status
On August 5, 2024, the Institute of Kashmir Studies at The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir – UAJK held a powerful seminar addressing India’s controversial decision to revoke the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Distinguished speakers, including Meritorious Professor Dr. Nadeem Haider Bukhari, Dr. Ambreen Khawaja, Dr. Mahmood Hussain, Dr. Nazakat Hussain, and Syed Inaam Ali Naqvi, examined the impact of this decision on the region and called for international accountability for human rights violations.
The event, attended by key figures such as Registrar Meritorious Professor Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafiq, Controller Examinations Prof. Dr. Wajid Aziz Lone, Dean Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadir, Director of Student Affairs Dr. Sharjeel Saeed, Prof. Dr. Nuzhat Shafi, Dr. Nazneen Habib, Dr. Fareed Uddin, Dr. Yousuf Mir, as well as faculty members, administrative officers, staff, and students, highlighted the importance of supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and raised awareness about ongoing atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.
