PRO Attends Workshop on “Marketing, Branding, and Outreach through Digital and Social Media Platforms” at NUST
Syed Mubashar Hussain, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), participated in a two-day workshop on “Marketing, Branding, and Outreach through Digital and Social Media Platforms,” held at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, on September 3rd and 4th, 2024. Organized by HEC under the USAID-funded ‘Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program,’ the workshop brought together media representatives and administrators from various universities and the HEC to discuss innovative strategies for enhancing digital outreach and communication in higher education.
The event’s closing session was attended by Mr. Muhammad Raza Chohan, Advisor Scholarships, HEC, and Ms. Kate Maloney, Director of the Office of Education, USAID Pakistan, who both emphasized the importance of modern social media in transforming the communication landscape for universities and highlighted the need for a strategic approach to branding to attract enrollment, foster external partnerships, and secure investment. Throughout the two days, participants, including UAJK’s PRO, engaged in discussions on advanced digital marketing techniques, the role of data analytics and automation, influencer marketing, writing for digital platforms, and optimizing paid social media campaigns.
