QEC Functions


Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is headed by the Director QEC. He reports directly to the Vice Chancellor. The Director QEC is responsible for correspondence with national and international quality assurance agencies and accreditation bodies.

QEC is responsible for:-

  1. Promoting public confidence that the quality and standards of the award of the degree are enhanced and safeguards.
  2. Implementation of HEC-QAA guidelines in letter and spirit.
  3. Review of quality standards and the quality of teaching in each subject area.
  4. Periodic academic audit of all the programs being offered on-campus/sub-campuses and affiliated institutions.
  5. Review of academic affiliation with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.
  6. Defining clear and explicit standards as points of reference to the reviews to be carried out. It should also help the employees to know as what they could expect from candidates.
  7. Applying Pakistan Qualification Framework for curriculum development. The Faculty is also appointed on the HEC eligibility criterion.
  8. Responsible to develop program specifications. These are standard set of information clarifying knowledge, understanding, skills and other attributes a student will have developed.
  9. Developing the quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation to affirm the quality of provision and the standard of awards are being maintained and to foster curriculum and staff development, together with research and other scholarly activities.
  10. Ensuring that the UAJK quality assurance procedures are designed to fit in with the arrangements in place nationally for maintain and improving the quality of Higher Education.
