The Neelum Campus was established in July 2013 to offer higher education opportunities to the residents of Neelum Valley. The goal is to integrate the local population into the national and global academic mainstream by fostering global citizenship and cultural harmony through quality education. The campus particularly serves students from the valley, aiming to develop their academic and research abilities in science, technology, and humanities.
The vision for the campus includes transforming Neelum Valley into an academic hub—complementing its reputation as a tourist destination—and reviving the scholarly legacy of the ancient Buddhist University of Sharda (dating back to 5000 B.C). The campus features a well-equipped building with a computer lab, library, conference hall, hostel facilities for out-of-town students, and recreational spaces including a playground and an indoor games hall.
It is expected that the Neelum Campus of UAJK will play a key role in the socio-economic development of the region.
