Founded in 2019, the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJ&K) is an active learning center committed to defining the media leaders of the future. With firm conviction in the strength of free expression and the critical importance of media in contemporary democratic nations, the department provides an extensive BS program that intermixes hands-on training in broadcast, print, and digital media with a sound foundation in media laws, ethics, and communication theory.
Our purpose is to prepare students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in a rapidly changing media world. We promote critical thinking, ethical journalism, and responsible storytelling, enabling our graduates to become reflective communicators and engaged members of a diverse society. As a developing center of excellence in teaching, research, and public service, the department aims to develop educated voices for a world better informed.
