In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad P.B.U.H) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the Quran), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing them (in) the Book (the Quran) and Al-Hikmah [the worship], while before that they had been in manifest error (03:164).

The Department of Islamic Studies was launched in December 2014. The renowned religious and influential scholar Prof. Qazi Ikram-ur-Rashid became its founding coordinator.

To be a prestigious, nationally recognized institution offering innovative and high-quality education on Islam, the Quran, and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) with a deeper understanding of these fundamentals of life.

To strive for bringing positive change in society through teaching and researching interfaith and intercultural activities from original sources of Islam, and to provide quality education, skills, and behavior in the field of Islamic Studies to maintain a global civilization of love and tolerance through educational activism.

1. To establish and promote Islamic education and present a synthesis of traditional and contemporary Islamic thought through proper classes and seminars, including issuing verdicts on religious queries under the Ifta Committee.

2. To create better understanding of Islam and contemporary challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.

3. To prepare scholars who can participate in advanced research activities.

4. To make the students of Islamic Studies capable of understanding and solving contemporary issues in the light of Islamic teachings.
