National Youth Helpline Seminar Connects Students on Mental Health Issues

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), in collaboration with ACT International, UNFPA, and HEC, organized a seminar on the National Youth Helpline (NYHL) on 28 August 2025.

Dr. Kashif Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, UAJK, welcomed the distinguished guests and participants. Speakers included Mr. Riaz Ahmed Qureshi (HEC), Mr. Aftab Qayyum (ACT International), and Ms. Kanwal Kashif (Manager, NYHL), who highlighted the rationale, achievements, and impact of the National Youth Helpline. A panel discussion on psychosocial challenges of youth, led by Dr. Mudaser Hafeez (AJK) and Ms. Nayyab (Psychologist), engaged the audience and provided practical solutions for student well-being.

Prof. Dr. Nadeem Haider Bukhari, Dean Faculty of Arts, delivered the Vote of Thanks on behalf of UAJK. Shields were presented to honour the contributions of distinguished guests and collaborators.

The seminar reflected UAJK’s commitment to youth empowerment, awareness, and mental health advocacy, reaffirming that together with its partners, the University strives to contribute to a healthier and more resilient future for the younger generation.
