Since June 1, 2017, I have served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Muzaffarabad. I was initially appointed under the Interim Placement of Fresh Ph.Ds (IPFP) programme for one year. Without any service interruption, I transitioned to the Tenure Track System (TTS) on March 21, 2018

My primary research focus is Environmental Biotechnology, with a dedication to unlocking and utilizing the region’s natural resources. My investigations span green biomass repurposing, microbial genome editing, molecular characterization, and antimicrobial drug screening.
