Personal Details
Dr. Javed Iqbal has been associated with the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) since 2004. He currently serves as a Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics at UAJK. He completed his Ph.D. in 2017, specializing in Laser–Matter Interaction and Laser-Produced Plasma Physics. In 2021, he has completed a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Laser Matter Interaction at the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS-EMT) in Quebec, Canada. Dr. Iqbal has collaborated internationally as a Researcher at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Latvia, where he worked on LIBS and Plasma Nitriding research. Additionally, he availed the research funding and has experience working with the Atomic & Laser Physics Research Group at the University of Virginia, USA, focusing on Cold Atom research in Magnetic Optical Traps. He had a short visit with Professor Martin Richardson’s group at CREOL, UCF, USA. He has been a research collaborator with the LIBS INDO research group in Indonesia since 2018. Furthermore, he was awarded the China International Talent Program (PIFI Fellowship) as a Professor during 2024–25, where he conducted research on Ultrafast Laser Filamentations in air and its Applications at CAS, China. He has worked as a chairman Department of physics from 2022-24. With over 20 years of professional and teaching experience, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research. He has published more than 70 research papers in well reputable international journals, and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. He is also supervising M.Phil and Ph.D. students.
