Personal Details
Prof. Dr. Ayaz Arif received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Bielefeld, Germany, in 2011. Following the completion of his doctorate, he rejoined the Department of Physics at the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir the same year. His primary research interests lie in Materials Science, with a special focus on Magnetism and Spin-Polarized Materials.
He has supervised 32 M.Phil. and 3 Ph.D. scholars, contributing significantly to research and capacity-building in advanced materials. Prof. A . A, Khan has published numerous research articles in highly reputed international journals, reflecting the quality and impact of his scientific work.
His dedication to teaching and research continues to inspire students and advance the frontiers of physics at the university.

Our research focuses on oxide electronics, spintronics, multiferroics, and oxide interfaces, with emphasis on metal oxides for advanced spintronic applications. We explore their multifunctional properties—ferroelectricity, magnetism, and transport mechanism for next-generation devices. Key interests include magnetism, tunneling magnetoresistance, and interfacial effects. A state-of-the-art lab is being developed under a Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) grant to support cutting-edge research in oxide-based functional materials and their role in future electronic systems.
