Dr. Fahad Hameed is a Lecturer at the Institute of Geology, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Pakistan, where he has been serving as a faculty member since September 2010. Before his academic career, he worked as a Field Geologist, providing specialized expertise in geotechnical investigations for hydropower projects in Pakistan. He earned his Ph.D. in Geology, with a specialization in Geophysics, from the Institute of Geology, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. As part of his doctoral studies, he conducted his research at the Centre for Exploration Targeting, University of Western Australia. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Geophysics, Tectonics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Remote Sensing.
His research interests include the application of geophysical methods in mineral exploration, regional tectonic studies, seismotectonics, groundwater exploration, and geotechnical investigations. He is also actively engaged in employing Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies in geological research. He has authored several publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals and is actively involved in various research projects.
