Business incubation center (UAJK) was established in July 2015 with the support of HEC and the University of AJK. Basic purpose of incubation center is to spin out companies from the universities and empowering our students through entrepreneurship. Our students often possess brilliant business ideas; however, they lack required resources to turn their ideas into profitable business ventures.

To create wealth and value for AJK by promoting entrepreneurship. So as to generate knowledge through problem solving research. So as to provide education, on-the-job training, advisory services, and research the problems of new ventures, small and medium entrepreneurs. We help early-stage businesses develop into financially stable companies by providing the tools, training, and infrastructure that help facilitate smarter, faster startup growth.

This comprehensive process includes an on-going series of strategic and tactical meetings, a variety of business development services, business coaching, and other important unique resources that are all individually tailored to help emerging enterprises achieve their specific short-term and long-term goals. Most importantly, because incubation is an on-going process, follow-up and accountability are some of the intangible benefits that help take businesses to the next level.

Our main objective is to help businesses grow to the point where they need to hire employees in order to continue operating and growing. With that being said, not every business is designed to create these types of jobs, nor does every business owner want to hire and manage employees. Therefore, companies seeking to be enrolled in our program must demonstrate their growth potential to us. Entrepreneurship not only provides the solution to our youth but also is the key driver of growth for all developed and developing economies around the world. More importantly, the BIC (UAJK) serves as a focal point for students, and those considering re-entering the workforce – to develop new skill sets allowing career and economic independence.

With wonderful stories and effectuation principles, the workshop was officially inaugurated by Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Program Director CED, IBA at UAJK Campus on 5th of March 2016. The main audience belonged to several disciplines like Computing Sciences, Engineering, Natural Sciences, and others.

Dr. Shahid introduced the IBA team, shared their success stories and accomplishments related to entrepreneurial development. It was not only an introduction to IBA but also about how entrepreneurship education and practice can create opportunities in AJK. On the second day, 6th March, the flag was taken by Dr. Imran Khan, Assistant Professor IBA. Dr. Khan helped the audience understand entrepreneurial business modeling and gave them better understanding of the business canvas.

Dr. Khan kept the audience continuously engaged with exercises and mentoring activities. On the last day, 7th of March, business pitch exercises were conducted and the findings were presented to the Vice Chancellor, UAJK. In the end, IBA CED team presented a token of appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khawaja Farooq Ahmad, and Mr. Mohsin Banday. The workshop ended with a certificate distribution ceremony. The IBA CED team was thankful for the hospitality showcased by the BIC UAJK team.
