There are two hostels located at Chellah Campus, Muzaffarabad — one for male students and two for female students, serving both campuses in the Muzaffarabad area. Additionally, six modern hostel facilities have been built at the King Abdullah Campus (KAC) in Chattar Klass, with three designated for boys and three for girls. Students are assigned to hostels near their respective departments — those studying at KAC are accommodated there, while students in Muzaffarabad are placed in Chellah Campus hostels.
All hostels are equipped with mess services, room attendants, and other basic and recreational facilities. Due to limited space, rooms are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for hostel accommodation are accepted through respective Heads of Departments or Institutes for graduate and postgraduate students, based on departmental merit. However, differently-abled students are given priority in allotments.
Only full-time regular students are eligible to apply for university accommodation. Applicants must follow these steps:
- Submit three copies of the accommodation form to the Head of Department.
- Obtain signed copies along with passport-sized photographs.
- Submit the signed documents to the Warden, who will forward them to the Provost Hostels.
The Hostel Warden must keep the Provost informed of any changes in hostel seat allotments.
At the beginning of each academic year, students must obtain a certificate from their department verifying their active enrollment, which is necessary for renewing hostel accommodation.
Full hostel rules and regulations are available from each hostel’s warden. Some key rules include:
- Each selected student must submit an affidavit agreeing to follow hostel rules. Failure to comply may result in cancellation of hostel admission.
- Hostel fees must be paid in advance through the CSD/LSD counters.
- Participation in the hostel mess is mandatory; self-cooking is strictly prohibited.
- Students may reside in the hostel only for the duration of their academic program — from the start of classes until the end of final exams.
Due to limited capacity, the University does not guarantee hostel accommodation for all applicants. However, every possible effort is made to accommodate students within university facilities.
