Artificial Intelligence (BSAI)

Artificial Intelligence is now a core part of computer science education at the undergraduate level, with BS programs increasingly designed to introduce students to both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of AI. These programs typically begin with essential concepts such as logic, search algorithms, and data structures, then progress to machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and computer vision. Many curriculums also include specialized topics like robotics, decision-making systems, and AI ethics to help students understand not only how AI works but also how it impacts society. Hands-on learning through labs and projects is emphasized throughout, giving students real-world experience in designing intelligent systems.

As the demand for AI skills grows across industries, bachelor’s programs are evolving to prepare students for both advanced study and immediate entry into the workforce. Some programs allow students to focus on subfields like deep learning, reinforcement learning, or AI in healthcare and finance. There’s also a noticeable trend toward including interdisciplinary options—such as combining AI with cognitive science, human-computer interaction, or data ethics—allowing students to explore how AI can be integrated across various domains. This broader, flexible structure ensures that graduates are equipped with not only technical expertise but also the ability to think critically about the social and ethical dimensions of AI technologies.

Vision

To be a beacon of knowledge, producing professionals who are able to make significant contributions to the world of Artificial Intelligence on a global scale.

Mission

Mission of BSAI degree program is to provide a comprehensive and demanding computing education in the area Artificial Intelligence to empower students with the knowledge and skills to excel in diverse professional settings. Additionally, it seeks to cultivate a culture characterized by innovation, critical thinking, and ethical responsibility.

Objectives

The BS (AI) program is designed to provide the students an in-depth knowledge required to transform large and complex scenarios into actionable decisions. The program and its curriculum focus on how complex inputs such as knowledge, vision, language, and huge databases can be used by machines for intelligent decision-making and to replace or assist humans in different domains. The curriculum of the BS (AI) program includes coursework in computing, mathematics, automated reasoning, statistics, computational modeling, introduction to classical artificial intelligence languages and case studies, knowledge representation and reasoning, artificial neural networks, machine learning, natural language processing, vision, and symbolic computation.

The program also encourages students to take courses in ethics and social responsibility, with the opportunity to participate in long term projects in which artificial intelligence can be applied to solve problems that can change the world for the better in areas like agriculture, defense, healthcare, governance, transportation, e-commerce, finance, and education.
