Education must build character and conscience, not just produce literate minds
Education must build character and conscience, not just produce literate minds,” said Vice-Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, while addressing the Best Teachers’ Award Ceremony organized by the Association for Academic Quality (AFAQ), a non-profit organization committed to improving education standards across Pakistan.
He emphasized that teachers are true nation builders who shape minds, nurture consciences, and instill values of respect, tolerance, and citizenship. Dr. Khattak urged educators to encourage students’ curiosity, protect their self-respect, and guide them with wisdom and compassion.
Around 400 teachers from public and private institutions across Muzaffarabad received souvenirs and Best Teacher Awards in recognition of their services.
Senior Zonal Manager AFAQ Mr. Shafqat Iqbal Abbasi and Deputy Zonal Manager Mr. Naeem ur Rehman Siddiqui thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his thought-provoking and inspiring address and presented souvenirs to him.
