It brings me great satisfaction and pride, as Chancellor, to witness the remarkable progress made by the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir over the past four decades. As a premier institution of higher education in the region, UAJK has consistently provided quality education and carried out impactful research across a wide range of disciplines.
Since its establishment in 1980, the University has grown to become one of the largest educational institutions in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Through its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation, it has firmly positioned itself among the top-ranking universities in the region.
I am pleased to see that the University has taken significant steps toward ensuring transparency, good governance, and academic excellence by inducting highly qualified and competent faculty. Notably, the University has sent a record number of scholars for Ph.D. studies under the Turkish Scholarship Programme and has actively built collaborative partnerships with both national and international institutions.
The University’s efforts have also earned national recognition — it ranked 5th in quality assurance among universities across Pakistan, and holds the top position among AJK-based institutions. I’m particularly proud that UAJK has taken meaningful strides to bridge the gender gap by enrolling more female students than male students in its degree programs.
The timely completion of the state-of-the-art King Abdullah Campus at Chatter Klass is another major achievement. With the relocation of 14 academic departments and several administrative units, the new campus offers modern facilities, extensive accommodation, and advanced laboratories to support a better learning environment for students.
